About Pastor Darrin Mariott
Pastor Darrin Mariott came to Christ at age 21. Darrin, who had not been raised in a Christian home, considered himself agnostic until the witness of a close friend caused him to investigate spiritual matters and begin reading the Bible. He grew slowly and steadily in the faith, under the guidance of a mentor at church. This mentor eventually encouraged Darrin to lead a Bible study, where he discovered his teaching gift and his passion for building up the Body of Christ.
Darrin met his wife and partner in ministry at a West Los Angeles church called The Hiding Place; he and Tamra were married in January of 1994. When his calling to the ministry became apparent, he enrolled in Trinity Theological Seminary, where he earned his M.A. in Pastoral Ministry in 1998.
At the time of his graduation, Darrin was already part-time staff at Metro Church, a Calvary Chapel in Santa Monica. He became a full-time assistant pastor there in March of 1998, serving in both administrative and teaching capacities until the Sonrise Westside Community Church plant in September of 2002 at which time Darrin also enrolled at Biola University. He graduated In December, 2006 with an M.A. in Christian Apologetics.
In addition to being in full-time ministry, Darrin is a full-time husband to Tamra, full-time dad to his son Connor and daughter Mackinley.
