On Sunday mornings, following the worship music, the Sonrise Beach Kids Club meets in three fun and educational classes for children ages 6 months through high school. The age groups gather in different locations to study Bible stories and discuss how those lessons apply to their daily lives.
The infants, toddlers and elementary school-aged children benefit from the Faith Weaver curriculum, which teaches the vital life lessons of the Bible through a variety of age-appropriate crafts, music, toys and physical activities. Snacks are also provided. Middle school and high school youth study the Bible in greater depth and discuss its moral and ethical applications to their home, school and social settings.
The current classes are as follows:
|Little Lifeboats||6 Months – 3 Years|
|Lifeguards||Pre-K –5th Grade Children|
|Deep Sea Divers||Middle School and
High School Youth
Throughout the year, Sonrise kids also learn the importance of serving the community by volunteering along with the adults at the church’s many community outreach activities, such as Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child and the Harvest Home Trim-a-Tree Party. Most of our all-church events, such as the Spring Picnic and Fall Festival, also include activities for children and youth.
Sonrise’s philosophy is that children are a valued and important part of the church family. They are the future leaders of the Christian faith.
“Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” (Matthew 9:14)
